DSP Engineer (M/F) – Lyon, France

Bon Vivant is a French company, based in Lyon, whose innovative technology is helping the dairy industry to make the transition to a more environmentally-friendly industry.
We produce milk proteins through precision fermentation, enabling dairy producers to make dairy products with far less environmental impact, without giving up either pleasure or nutritional qualities.

We are building an international team of dairy products lovers that want to reinvent the food industry. We are looking for a downstream, processing scientist (M/F) to join our team and to harness the power of fermentation technology to create alternative milk proteins.

You will be part of a multidsciplinary team with many years of experience in R&D, who values collaboration, trust and respect.

This position is based in Lyon.

What you will be doing

• Collaboratively select and set up the DSP units of operation for 30L scale lab
• Develop commercially scalable processes for the purification of recombinant proteins
• Implement and execute the purification of recombinant proteins (ml to 30L scale)
• Analyse data, draw conclusions and optimize DSP processes as need
• Maintain equipment and troubleshooot as needed
• Prepare technoloygy transfer documents including detailed process discrptions, mass balances, process flow diagrams
• Scale up processes in collaboration with CMO
• Resarch, learn and incorporate promising techniques and technologies in protein purification

About you :

• A PhD in Chemical Engineering or related discpline with a minumum of 2 years industrial experience or a Master's degree in a related fild with a minimum of years relevant industrial experience
• Strong understanding of protein biochemistry and recombinant protein expression in microbial hosts relevant to downstream purification
• Knowledge or experience on differen biomass separation techniques
• Fluent in English
• Ability to work independently and in teams, with strong critical thinking
• Attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate records
